The Lancaster Festival of Voices

is an annual celebration of the human voice and its power to bring people together.
Lancaster is enjoying a renaissance as it emerges as a destination for artists of all genres. This renaissance has powerfully benefited the city both culturally and economically. The Lancaster Festival of Voices provides a supportive venue for singers of all ages, thus creating awareness of the voice as an instrument and bringing yet another genre of music to this artistically thriving community.

It is with great excitement that we announce the return of Festival of Voices for our eighth consecutive year!

The Story

The Lancaster Festival of Voices started in 2013 when a group of singers met one night after a choral practice. They saw a need for a platform that could both showcase the power of choral singing as a way to bring the community together, as well as an outlet to create more opportunities for choral performances. Ideas led to action and in March 2013 the Lancaster Festival of Voices was born.

In the last eight years the FOV has evolved into a Lancaster tour de force. Initially the festival was one performance highlighting several choruses.  The first festival was a success, receiving such a strong community response that the organizers decided gradually to expand the festival. Now entering its eighth year the Festival of Voices spans an entire weekend and includes, multiple performances in venues throughout downtown Lancaster, several public choral workshops, and many community partners.

Looking ahead, the organizing committee is excited about further developing the festival and finding new ways to bring choral performances to Lancaster, bringing our community closer through the power of the human voice.
